On Chicken Wings.

A product.

We had the hankering for chicken wings, a bit of a break from frozen dinners, fast food, soup and sandwiches. Cheeseburgers and frozen French fries…

This product is 908 grams/2 lbs. for ten dollars at Food Basics. Along with that, never having used it before, we picked up a bottle of Diane Sauce, (made from 100 % genuine Dianes), and there are different flavours, but this one is honey & garlic.

What is kind of shocking is that a measly three wings gives you 130 calories, and a whopping 85 mg of cholesterol.

For that reason, I only did the three wings, along with a tossed salad which consists of lettuce, tomato, onion and cucumber. There is very little fat there, although the minimal dressing contributes both fats and cholesterol. The celery adds necessary fibre, arguably a bit of Vitamin-C, and other than that we have the sweet potato.

If you were to compare 100 grams of white potato with 100 grams of sweet potato, the sweet potato is lower in calories, but it’s not by much—less than ten percent.

That being said, there is nothing wrong with a bit of color on the plate. If you can peel the one, you can peel the other. I was actually a little surprised by how strong the flavour was, as compared to the baby turnips I tried out last week. We will definitely have to bear that in mind, ah, you know, like for next time.

With this particular meal, I made a mistake. There are three different sizes of wings there—the biggest one wasn’t quite done, but there is no law that says you have to eat it, either.

When you take out the bones, and consider just exactly how much meat is here, that is one hell of a lot of cholesterol.

I have no doubt we will finish the bag of wings, only next time I’ll just buy it fresh and slather it with that new bottle of sauce. Oh—and maybe one or two herbs and spices of my own concoction.

Thank you for reading. We’ve decided to become influencers or something. Basically, if you would just try to become a little more like us, the world might be a better place.

Ciao, baby.
